Tips & advice |
How do I prepare my ice cream machine for the winter?
With air-cooled machines start with washing machine and clean all parts thoroughly, let the machine and parts to dry overnight before reassembling. Grease sparingly and re-assembled on site. Pull only the front bolts easily, auger shaft can be deformed if it is too tensioned all winter. Unplug the machine. Close the lid and cabinet doors. You might place a small paper in between for air ventilation.
In water-cooled machines, start by turning off the water supply and disconnect the input and outlet hoses. The machine shall be properly washed and all parts thoroughly cleaned. Start the machine up to operating mode without the parts fitted (machines that boot protection front plate must have this installed in order to run). Run in two to three minutes when the water begins to drip out of the hose connections, you can easily with blow out the cooling water system. Blow until it comes out more water (about 2-5 cups water). Let the machine and the parts dry overnight before reassembling. Grease sparingly and re-assembled on site. Pull only the front bolts easily, auger shaft can be deformed if it is too tensioned all winter. Unplug the machine. Close the lid and cabinet doors. You might place a small paper in between for air ventilation. |
